Katie Bresky, LMSW

Parenting is a time of growth and connection that often challenges us to tap into old memories, hopes and a wide experience of emotion.  My hope is to partner with parents and young children who seek to improve their overall sense of safety, health and connection to themselves, loved ones and their lives.  I believe that the way in which we experience the world (through the past and present) will continue to shape and grow our capacity to be whole and healthy into the future.

I see therapy as a space to explore and renegotiate our sense of safety, worth, belonging and connection through talk, play and practice.  It is a collaborative space where we may practice new ways of being, thinking, experiencing and uncover some of the very best parts of ourselves and our children.

If you are looking for someone to support your parenting journey, help you make sense of happy and hard times with your child, explore difficult or traumatic experiences with young children or receive parenting support……. I am available to you and your family.   Our time together would include relationally focused tools and concepts, cognitive, developmental and behavioral tools and most important…..a space to be seen, heard, celebrated and known.

I have more than 18 years experience working with infants, children, teens, adults and parents in the context of relational work, anxiety, depression, developmental challenges, traumatic experiences, parenting  and perinatal adjustment.  I offer a combination of Developmental Guidance, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and  Infant-Child Parent Psychotherapy (IPP/CPP) within my practice.

Given that therapy is a unique relationship, it is important for many clients to know who they are spending time with as they describe their own lives and needs. Here is a small window into my life:  I am a mother of 2 boys who are curious, compassionate, hilarious and challenging humans! We have experienced developmental, communication, stress and chronic medical concerns as a family and as many families do, we continue to learn and grow.    In my free time, I enjoy all things nature, animal  and plants and have an endless curiosity to learn more!  I enjoy art, reading, cooking,  taking my dogs for walks, hanging out with my kids, doodling, drawing and attempting to paint!

Please feel free to reach out to me if you are curious, have questions or would like to connect.  I am available for weekend telehealth sessions and accept the following insurance plans: BCBS, BCN, Aetna and Priority Health.
